A sparkling new set of music from a young saxophonist who pushes herself both in her approach to the instrument and her writing. The band features Emma’s working band with Gareth Lockrane on reeds, David Preston guitar, Kevin Glasgow bass, Jamie Murray drums and Scottie Thompson keys.
‘This album means a lot to me. It’s something special,’ says Rawicz about Inkyra. ‘I’ve been playing with this band for more than three years. We’ve worked very intensively on this music. After the first concert last summer, we all invested a lot of time, practised and developed the programme further in workshops. So everyone has left their mark on it.‘
Catch her in a great double bill with fellow ACT artist Michael Wollny at the QEH on Sunday 16th November as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival.
