Becky Farrell

Becky Farrell’s connection to music began at an early age — shaped by countless days at sound checks and gigs for her dad’s 12-piece funk and soul band, as well as the sounds of Stevie Wonder, Average White Band, and Steely Dan playing through her family’s home stereo.

It was dad who took a nine year old Becky to her first live jazz gig at a local Essex club, where performances of Bob Berg’s Friday Night at the Cadillac Club and David Sanborn’s Run for Cover inspired her to pick up the saxophone. Driven by her love for music, Becky also got into radio at just sixteen years old.

In 2023, she completed a degree in jazz music, which took her to Chicago to study the city’s rich jazz history. While there, she had the opportunity to receive mentorship from renowned saxophonists Sharel Cassity (Dizzy Gillespie All-Star Big Band, Herbie Hancock, Wynton Marsalis, Roy Hargrove) and Tia Fuller (Duke Ellington Orchestra, Chaka Khan, Jill Scott, Aretha Franklin, Beyoncé).

At her happiest when surrounded by live music, Becky currently works as a live music event producer, collaborating with organisations such as Serious (EFG London Jazz Festival) and the Royal Albert Hall.
