Jjazzahead! have started the “Summer Nights” video-series with excerpts from this year’s showcases on another channel, this new radio show – exclusively hosted by Artistic Advisor Götz Bühler for OneJazz – also takes one or two looks back. Opening with a new track by a Luxemburg-Madagascar collaboration by the Arthur Possing quartet with Joel Rabesolo, this hour-long program presents new music by a host of jazzahead!-alumni: the intimate duo of Shuteen Erdenebaatar and Nils Kugelmann, South-African guitarist Vuma Levin with a new Swiss band and his compatriot, bassist Benjamin Jephta, with a reworking of one of his classics, as well as an Afro-New-Orleanian-connection by Senegalese bassist Alune Wade, a new release from the amazing Oumuamua Orchestra from Nürnberg, a track by Carl WIttig’s Aurora Oktett (which just won the German Jazz Prize), plus new music by Swiss guitarist Louis Matute about “Gringolandia” and Greek bassist Petros Klampanis with an ode to the mythical nymph Calypso.
