Playlists are included below.

Orphy Robinson MBE highlights the immense influence of the Caribbean on jazz globally, a programme originally aired during Notting Hill Carnival weekend 2024 but will be re-broadcast on One Jazz at 2pm Sunday 22nd June, official Windrush Day 2025, commemorating the docking of the ship Empire Windrush at London’d Tilbury docks on this very day in 1948.

Aboard the Windrush were over 1000 folks from the Caribbean, invited by Britain to help re-build the country after the destruction and devastation of World War II. We salute their immense contribution and the wonderful cutural impressions up and down the entire UK.

Among the exotic new crop of talented young artists, Jazz is experiencing a curious resurgence on an instrument that remains one of the most iconic and distinctive in Jazz: the vibraphone. One of it’s new standard-bearers is Sasha Berliner, the Los Angeles based musician whose has quickly secured her place within the contemporary landscape of Jazz.
