One Jazz presents superb Canadian-born, UK-based trumpeter Jay Phelps celebrating the vast repertoire and enduring legacy of jazz’s most iconic figure, Miles Davis, in this special Miles at 100 tribute.
This intimate celebration takes place in the unique surroundings of the Chapel at Abney Park Cemetery in Stoke Newington, North London, on Sunday 31st May, with performances at 12:30 and 14:00.

Jay Phelps
Jay Phelps is one of the leading trumpet players and bandleaders on the UK jazz scene. He has performed with world-class artists including Wynton Marsalis, Shabaka Hutchings, and Amy Winehouse, and has long championed the music of his great hero, Miles Davis.
He regularly performs sold-out interpretations of Davis’ landmark album Kind of Blue, and recently co-starred in the acclaimed theatre production Miles at Southwark Playhouse.
For these special performances, Jay will present a curated selection of music associated with Miles Davis, alongside personal stories that bring the music and its history vividly to life. He will be joined by Luke Bacchus on keys.
