El Maestro Eddie Palmieri passed on Weds 6th August 2025. For DJ Lubi he was simply the “greatest of all time” Latin music artist. The true Sun Of Latin Music. He first saw Eddie live in 1984 at the North Sea Jazz Festival in Den Haag and since then he’s been such a major part of his Latin music journey and life.
Lubi says, “I was honoured to co-organise his only full 10 date UK tour back in 1999 as part of the Latin Promoters Network. I also featured him on many of my compilation albums of the 2000s, including the Salsa Brothers : Eddie & Charlie Palmieri collection for Nascente in 2006.”
This ‘especial’ is a one hour vinyl only mix of Eddie’s music put together by DJ Lubi, a real mix of his genres – mambo, salsa, Mozambique, Latin funk, jazz, Latin soul….everything he turned his hand to.
