Ruth Fisher

Ruth Fisher is a highly respected jazz presenter recognised both in the UK and internationally, for her deep knowledge and unwavering passion for the genre. With a longstanding career as a broadcaster and curator on Jazz FM, she has honed a a warm, enthusiastic and informative presenting style.

Throughout her career, Ruth has interviewed more than 200 musicians including DeeDee Bridgewater, Jazzmeia Horn, Al Jarreau, Roy Ayers, Zara McFarlane, Christian McBride, Kenny Garrett, Fred Hirsch and was the first person in the UK to interview Gregory Porter in 2010.

Beyond her role as a presenter, Ruth is actively engaged in shaping the programming for various jazz festivals including Watford Jazz Junction, Cambridge Jazz festival and the Gibraltar World Music Festival. She also serves as a consultant for the Red Sea Jazz Festival in Eilat and participates as a panelist in international showcases in Spain, the Baleriac Islands and the Netherlands. Ruth also sits on the Board of the National Jazz Archives.

Ruth joins One Jazz with Four Corners, a monthly show with an engaging mix of content centered around latest releases, insightful interviews, and a monthly spotlight on the diverse jazz scenes of a specific country.
