Daniel Spicer is a writer, broadcaster, improviser and poet based in Brighton, UK. He writes about music for The Wire, Jazzwise, Songlines, WeJazz and The Quietus. He is the author of The Turkish Psychedelic Music Explosion: Anadolu Psych (1965–1980) and Peter Brötzmann: Free-Jazz, Revolution And The Politics Of Improvisation.
Since 2006, he has presented The Mystery Lesson, showcasing new releases in free-jazz and the outer limits of improvised music. The show has appeared on a number of FM stations and online platforms over the years. He is delighted it has now found a home at One Jazz.
